June 23, 2022, JinkoSolar, one of the largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers in the world, today announced that it has signed a strategic co-operation agreement with CIMC Raffles, a leading offshore equipment Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) company, to mutually develop offshore solar projects based on JinkoSolar’s leading N-type technology. According to the agreement, the parties would work towards the promotion and commercialization of offshore floating solar plants and explore the possibilities for offshore solar-hydrogen plants using JinkoSolar’s high efficiency and reliable Tiger Neo products.
Owing to its record high efficiency, low degradation and temperature coefficient, high power with low Isc that fosters project safety, great anti-salt anti-environment reliability backed by industry leading warranty and low maintenance, Tiger Neo is verified as the most suitable solution for offshore solar applications, including floating solar farms, offshore wind-solar hybrid plants, offshore solar desalination, offshore solar-hydrogen production.
Compared to ground mounted systems, the BOS cost of floating solar PV plant is much higher on average due to floats, anchoring, mooring, and plant design. In addition, its operation and maintenance activities are generally more difficult to perform on water than on land. As a result, FPV projects require more powerful and highly reliable and durable panels. The uniquely high efficiency, high power output, high generation yield and lower degradation in Tiger Neo makes it perfect for deployment in offshore projects. These factors help reduce the BOS and O&M cost by 4-5% as compared to conventional P-type panels.
“It is great to work with CIMC Raffles, the Chinese offshore engineering specialist, who is looking for ways to consolidate its leading position to diversify into a more versatile operation for energy transition, “said Dany Qian, VP of JinkoSolar, ”With our Tiger Neo products, we believe CIMC Raffles can significantly reinforce its penetration strategy into renewable energy and build a portfolio of innovative offshore green projects.’
