Astana, Kazakhstan, May 17th, 2018 – JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: JKS) (the “Company,” or “JinkoSolar”), a global leader in the solar PV industry, today announced that it was invited as the sole Chinese PV module manufacturer by the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan to deliver a keynote address at the Global Challenges Summit. The Global Challenges Summit, hosted the Kazakh capital of Astana, is Central Asia’s highest profile gathering of current and former heads-of-state, cabinet members, private sector leaders, and representatives from various intergovernmental organizations such as eighth United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Former French President Francois Hollande, and Kazakhstan Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev. As the only PV module manufacturer slated to speak at the summit, JinkoSolar shared its outlook on the development of renewables in Kazakhstan and along the Belt and Road Initiative. Kazakhstan is a strategic solar market given its geographic location between continental Europe and China, making it a critical component of China’s Belt and Road initiative. JinkoSolar, as the world’s largest solar module manufacturer, has taken the lead in the development of solar in Kazakhstan and have supplied 50 MW of modules to the nation since last year. JinkoSolar’s attendance of the Global Challenges Summit follows the recent partnership between JinkoSolar and the Kazakhstan International Centre for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, a division of the kazakhstan government. The two parties signed an memorandum of understanding to partner in the development of solar in Kazakhstan. “We’re extremely honored to be invited by the Foreign Ministry to speak at the Global Challenges Summit and share our ideas on renewables development along the Belt and Road initiative with world leaders as the global leader in solar. Kazakhstan is the right place to speak about this issue given its strategic position as a major player within the Belt and Road initiative” noted Ms. Dany Qian, JinkoSolar Vice President. “Going forward, we’ll continue to invest in the development of our footing in Kazakhstan and along the Belt and Road initiative” Ms. Qian further commented.
